Greenhouse Growers Conference - Learn to solve problems and increase profits!

A Greenhouse Production Conference has been scheduled for anyone interested in starting a greenhouse to experienced greenhouse operators.  The conference is ssponsored by the University of Maryland Extension and Maryland Greenhouse Growers Association.

The workshop will be held on Friday November 18th, 2011 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Chesapeake College Cadby Theatre in the Kent Humanities Building.  Topics will include: Production Cost of Growing Plants in a Greenhouse: How to keep a handle on your cost, Learn From an Experienced Scout:  A hands-on approach with and emphasis on scouting techniques, using pH/EC meters, diagnostic kits, sticky cards, humidity chambers, scouting forms, and beat tests, Cutting off the Really Big Losses from Diseases in Greenhouses, Keeping the Nasty Thrips, Aphids, Whiteflies and Mites from Bringing Down the House Using the Latest in IPM and New Chemistry, Producing Quality Geraniums and New Guinea Impatiens, Ways Growers Can Get The Most Profit On What They Grow, What Can Go Right and Wrong With Bedding Plants: Correcting problems before they cost you money, Try Something New That Can Make You Money In The Greenhouse Business.

These sessions will be taught by University specialists, educators, scouts and experts from the field.  Maryland Pesticide Re-Certification credits and Nutrient Management Credits will be available at this conference.

Registration fee $39.00 per person.  This fee includes the workshop materials, continental breakfast and lunch.
